We will be having a return visit from Herb & Lynn Levy…..visiting the Berkshires from Long Island. Herb is the Editor/Publisher of Gamers Alliance Reports – reviewing games quarterly since 1986 and is on the jury for the International Gamers Award. He was the recipient and keynote speaker for the 2011 Parker-Bradley award by the American Game & Puzzle Collectors. He is one of the finest game teachers and ambassadors for our hobby. I’m proud to call him a close friend since 1977.
We have a backlog of new and recently acquired games that will hit our tables for our 8/24 and 8/31 sessions.
Tim is preparing for: Gutenberg, Living Forest, Nidavellir, The Estates
K-ban is preparing for Phil Walker Harding’s ‘Planted’ and the new crowd-funded game of containing oil spill to save the environment, “The Spill”

ON OUR TABLES
The Builders: Middle Ages (led by Drew D)  2013 two-player drafting and set collection card game using action points.
60 Second City 2x ( led by Drew Z) 2-player 2021 co-op. 5 one minute speed rounds of alternating drawing and playing tiles to a grid, 12 goal cards to be claimed to win. First time through seems hopeless, then it clicks and it’s gamers vs game in an exhausting but worthwhile race against time.
Happy City (led by Sandy) you should consider this 2021 drafting city builder as an entry level version of Villagers with the chaining removed….just population symbols x happy hearts for your total score. Excellent family game for introducing non-gamers into drafting and engine building.
Paris: City of Lights (led by Tim) 2019 tile drafting and laying for area control, lighting Paris.
Mass Transit (led by K-ban) 2-4 player 2021 co-op card game – get 6 commuters home to the suburbs from the city using multi-function cards for trains, buses and ferries. A WIN !
Villagers (led by Tim) 2019 Norwegian city building engine builder alternating drafting and building phases.
Tiny Towns – 2X (led by K-ban) 2019 game of drafting building supplies to construct buildings in a 4×4 grid. Each building type scores differently and is dependent on other buildings – a puzzle that requires some planning. We used the Town Hall variant with resources being chosen from 10 of 15 resource cards followed by one free choice. Dwayne introduced me to this game pre-COVID era and it should come out more often.
Big City (led by Drew D) 1999 Franz Benno Delonge ( TransAmerica, Fjordes, Manila) design that got revised in 2019 in an XL version. Game play reminded me of Sid Sackson’s 1984 Metropolis and new favorite Foundations of Rome. I had played it back in the 20th Century and forgot how elegant the design was. Thanks Drew for reintroducing this gem.
The Estates/Neue Heimat (led by Tim) cutthroat 2018 real estate area majority auction game
Completto (led by Sandy) think 2015 Rack-O on steroids with chunky wooden tiles. German import only. Be the first to have your row of 22 tiles be in ascending order with a few clever twists.
Lucky Numbers (led by Sandy) re-issued 2012 Michael Schacht (Web of Power/China, Valdora, Coloretto, Crazy Chicken/Drive) tile laying puzzle game. If you need a game gift for your aging parents or to introduce non-gamers to our hobby, this is a great way to start. Be the first to arrange your tile in ascending order both horizontally and vertically in your 4×4 grid.
