16 at Purple Dragon Games for July 6 – Racing Night! – cars and bicycles

ON OUR TABLES:
Lacorsa Grand Prix Game 2x (led by K-ban & Sean) 2018 car racing card game that distills a race into a series of challenges, overtaking and drafting….with points awarded for placing in a series of several races.
Bisikle (led by Sean) a 2009 flicking game where players have to compete on a crazy track in order to win a bicycle race. No cards or electrical devices are involved. The whole concept is in the Z-Ball, a marble with a unique internal mechanism. It is very easy to control. Basically, the goal of the game is to flick your way to the finish line as fast as possible. The challenge is to control the effects of the Z-Ball and pass as quickly as possible through all the obstacles (slopes, fences, jumps, mouse holes, etc.).
Mille Bornes (led by Drew) 1954 classic French card game where players compete to drive 1000 km, dealing with hazards along the way.
DownForce (led by K-ban) 2017 reimplemtation of Wolfgang Kramer’s ‘Tempo’ (which became Formel 1, Nikki Lauda’s Formel Eins, Daytona 500, Detroit-Cleveland Grand Prix and Top Race over several decades) which adds a few neat twists to the auction, adds betting and has optional driver powers.
Flamme Rouge (led by Sean) a fast-paced 2016 Tour de France bicycle racing game, where each player controls a team of two riders: a Rouleur and a Sprinteur. The players’ goal is to be the first to cross the finish line with one of their riders. Players move their riders forward by drawing and playing cards from that rider’s specific deck, depleting it as they go. Use slipstreams to avoid exhaustion and position your team for a well timed sprint for the win.
Carabande (led by Drew) 1996 dexterity flicking game (AKA PitchCar)where large, wooden, puzzle-like pieces are used to construct a race track that looks very similar to a slot car track when finished. But instead of electricity, players use finger-flicks to send small pucks around the track, a la Carrom
Formel Fun (led by K-ban) originally a 1991 card based bicycle racing game,”Devil Take the Hindmost” re-worked as a series of 1-lap car races with the last place car getting eliminated each lap.
Trial by Trolley (led by Drew Z) 2020 game where one player acts as the Trolley Operator and must choose where to send a murderous, out of control, trolley. Every other player at the table plays cards and argues in order to convince the operator to spare their lives and condemn everyone on the other track to a gruesome death-by-trolley. Each round, one player will act as the trolley conductor. This person will be the judge, and will choose which track the trolley will murder.

The Climbers (led by Tim) 2008 game of trying to climb to the highest level of a structure made of colorful wooden blocks that are moved and rotated, climbed using ladders and other tools. Your blocking disk will prevent other players from using a specific block. Use your tools wisely and at the right time to make the best possible moves in your adventure to the top!
