7/13/2022 – Berkshire Gamers Session Report #22-27

An even dozen for our July 13th session at Purple Dragon Games.

Steve’s 92 year old Mom, Helen, visited from Florida for her second time
We were saddened to hear that Sean & Wendy’s home in Grafton NY had a fire last Tuesday resulting in considerable water and smoke damage.
The family is currently staying with relatives west of Albany, making visits to Purple Dragon unlikely for a while.
The SdJ (German Game of the Year) Jury just announced its Game of the Year – ‘Cascadia’. We played it several times last summer….and I predicted a possible SdJ win in our August 11, 2021 Session Report. The KennerSpiel (gamer’s game of the year) award went to The Living Forest (no copies of Living Forest currently available in USA that I’m aware of other than via eBay)

Buying games that you’ve played – kindly obtain from Purple Dragon Games so we can continue to play there without a board fee. If you want to acquire a title that isn’t on display in the store, ask Niko to order a copy for you.

Hanamikoji (led by Tim) – excellent 2-player 2013 game of influencing Geishas
Tussie Mussie 2x (led by K-ban) 2019 2-player flower arrangement game of ‘I Choose, you pick’ by the author of Wingspan, Elizabeth Hargrave….18 cards in a wallet, yet packs a wallop
Lost Cities (led by Tim) Knizia’s 1999 classic 2 player card game of collecting sets of archeological expeditions. 
Catan – with Seafarers Expansion (led by Edward) adds ships and additional islands to settle – making sheep more important than previously as needed to build ships.
Walk the Dogs (led by Drew) 2004 Moon/Weissblum family game. 3D dogs in 8 breeds….collect a set of 5 of the same breed or earn the most dog points….Woof!
Coloretto (led by Drew) 2003 Michael Schacht set collecting, drafting and push your luck card game
King of Tokyo (group led) 2011 king of the hill dice game with monsters.
For Sale (led by Drew) Stefan Dorra’s 1997 classic card game about buying and selling real estate….very quick clever filler.
Shit Happens (led by Logan) 2016 politically incorrect party game….think Chronology with ranking painful situations…..until one player has accumulated 10 cards in painful order 
Trans America (led by K-ban) 2001 game of railroad networking on a USA map.
