It was a Reprise Night – mostly an evening of getting games we played once back to the table
Next Wednesday, 2/23, is Train Night – all train games. Expect a curated experience likely to include TransAmerica/Europa, Railroad Ink, Ticket to Ride (an expansion), Santa Fe Rails, Railroad Rivals, Whistle Stop, Traintopia, Crayon Rails (Empire Builder series) and more
IN: K-ban, Sean, Wendy, Emmet, Armando, Tim, Dwayne, Amy, Ethan, Emily, Patty, Sofia

On Our Tables:
Mandala  2x (led by K-ban) opulent 2019 2-player abstract design with a cloth board and colorful square cards….no real theme but every play reveals hidden depth in hand management and area majority/influence..

Odin’s Ravens (led by Emily) 2-player 2002 racing game with clever card play/hand management. The 2016 2nd edition eliminates the ‘magic way’ but lengthens the race path.

Mass Transit (led by Emmet) 2-4 player 2021 co-op to get 6 workers home from the city to their homes in the suburbs. Colorful cards can be used to add to transit paths or move the commuters via walking, train, bus or ferry. Our intrepid trio managed both a win and a loss.

Boss Monster (led by Armando) 2013 dungeon building card game

Stone Age (led by Patty)  Patty enjoyed her first play of the 2008 worker placement game that she purchased the 10th anniversary souped up edition (2-sided board, expansions included and fancy bits)….and brought it back to lead a table for the first time….way to go!

Pan Am (led by Tim) 2020 game of building an air travel empire as Pan Am expands through seven decades. Worker placement, auctions to obtain destination cards, establish routes, build airports and sell routes to Pan Am in exchange for shares of stock. Most stock wins.

Istanbul (led by Sean) Rudiger Dorn (Goa, Luxor, Las Vegas) modular design of network and route building, using pick up and delivery in a race to get the most rubies through clever trading. Won the Kennerspiel first place award in 2014 for gamers games.

Quacks of Quedlinburg (led by Sean) push your luck game of adding ingredients to your cauldron….but get too greedy and it all blows up. Purchase ingredients that either earn VPs or grant special privileges. Won first place for Kennerspiel for 2018

The Game (led by K-ban) 2015 co-op game with limited communication as players try to rid themselves of cards using 2 piles of ascending cards and 2 piles of descending cards – without getting stuck. We got down to a handful of cards among the 4 of us.
