ON OUR TABLES:
Wine Cellar (led by Sean) 2025 auction card game where players are rival sommeliers who have decided to face off to determine who is the best. Each person will take on a client, building a cellar that ages well and is suited to the client’s tastes. Over the course of eight rounds in Wine Cellar, players will collect wine bottles to create a cellar for their client. Bottles will be arranged to create a timeline for the order in which the wine will be consumed. Each bottle is worth different amounts based upon where it is in the timeline. Players will also receive points based on their client’s preferences for wine type and country of origin.
Hattrick (led by K-ban) 1995 trick taking card game with an unusual rule where two tricks can be opened at the same time

The player to the left of the dealer starts by playing any one card. Now each player follows in clockwise order playing a card, until everybody has played one. The second player has the option to play either a card with the same color, or to open a second trick by playing a card of a different color next to the already played card. When someone plays a second color, he starts a second trick on the table. If the second player starts a second trick, the third player just has the options to follow either one of the colors or discard a card of the third color (pass). He may not place a card of the third color on one of the existing tricks or start a third trick. If the second player follows the color of the first card, the third one has the option to start a 2nd trick (and so on). The players who played the card with the highest number in each trick win the respective cards. They place them visible to everyone in front of themselves on the table, stacked by colors, so everyone can see which color they are collecting. The player with the highest card in both tricks combined starts to play a card for the next round. Players score one point for each card in the longest suit in their tableau and deduct 1 point for every other card and 2 points for each discard.

Moonlit Alchemy (led by Chris) prototype trick taking game by Chris being playtested.
Nikosu Dice (led by Zach) 2016 predictive bid trick taking game that uses number cards and dice in their hand to win mini-games and score points against the other players over multiple rounds. In each trick, each player plays a card or die from their hand, and the winner of the trick scores a point. There is also a chance to win bonus points at the end of each round if the number of the tricks won in the round matches the last die left OR if a player declares they would not win any trick for the round and actually won no tricks.
Tokaido (led by Tim) Antoine Bauza’s ( 7 Wonders, Hanabi, Ghost Stories) 2012 game of travellers on a famous Japanese road. The potential action spaces in Tokaido are laid out on a linear track, with players advancing down this track to take actions. The player who is currently last on the track takes a turn by advancing forward on the track to their desired action and taking that action, so players must choose whether to advance slowly in order to get more turns, or to travel more rapidly to beat other players to their desired action spaces.
7 Seals: Cthulhu (led by Zach) 2024 majorities, hand management and trick taking card game where players are the leader of a sect of cultists and seek to be primarily responsible for breaking the seals that keep the ancient Elders away from our reality. Players can achieve immediate victory or triumph by accumulating Power Points, after completing 21 Rituals (rounds). But be careful, Insanity could be your undoing!
Clank In Space (led by Rob)  2016 – A deck building game dungeon crawling board game. Sneak into the dragon’s lair to steal the artifacts it has hidden away. Sounds from actions draw the dragon’s attention, and every artifact stolen enrages it more. The more valuable items are further in, but if you die in the depths you are lost.

Wasteland Express Delivery Service (led by Matt) 2017 pick up and deliver game with action points and variable player powers, where players take on the role of the half-insane drivers for the last delivery company left of earth. In order to scratch out a living in this deranged universe, drivers will deliver goods and guns between the handful of settlements pockmarked throughout the hellscape that they call home and take on missions from the handful of factions still trying to hold onto the last dregs of civilization. None of this is easy as inhabiting the post-apocalyptic wasteland are unhinged characters set on unleashing mayhem at every turn. If players want to survive, they’ll have to battle through the psycho raiders who occupy the void between cities.  Outfit your truck, get loaded for bear, hire some allies, get paid, and just keep on truckin’.
Tabriz (led by K-ban) 2025 blends contract engine-building with worker placement in an accessible rich cultural setting where players are rug weavers and sellers. Players gather rare materials like silk, camel hair, and plant dye as they weave Persian rugs to fulfill commissions and earn prestige. Players use their three assistants to navigate a bustling bazaar, time their moves with shifting market prices, and build a powerful action engine that grows with every rug completed.

Crokinole (led by Tony) 1876 Canadian flicking game – we celebrated International Crokinole Day
The Gang (led by Chris)  2024 co-operative version of Texas Hold’em where players bet on how good they think their hand of cards will be relative to the other players, then try to make their predictions a reality. Early in a round, without talking to each other, each player chooses a chip indicating how good they think their hand is. Then they begin dealing cards into the middle of the table and have a chance to reassess their hands as more cards are revealed. At the end of the round, players see whether they correctly evaluated their hand. If all players did, they get to open one of the bank vaults! If not, the alarm is tripped! If the team manages to open three vaults before tripping the alarm three times, the gang wins!
