10/26/2022 – Berkshire Gamers Session Report #22-42

For our Halloween themed session, I had to put myself on the Disabled List with a severe case of Sciatica….I start PT on Monday.
Thanks Sean, for both running the session and writing the bulk of the session report.

Next Wednesday, November 2 is a request night….what did you miss the first time around and want to try?
Anything new that you’d like to bring and lead?
I’ve recently received – Cahoots, What the Heck, Framework, Habitats, Basketboss, Planted, Mondrian: Color in Motion, Vinyl : Jukebox edition (2 player) and Big Band (3-4 player), Downtown Farmers Market.
Sean can lead my copies of Summer Camp” and Yukon Airways and can bring Flamecraft and Vintage back for a second cycle
Tim has copies of Get On Board On Board: London & NY, Nidavellir, Akropolis, Next Station London and more
Rob can lead my copy of Arrairial
We will have a special guest for our November 9 session at Purple Dragon Games – game author Peter McPherson from the Saratoga area.
Peter is the author of ‘Tiny Tales’ and ‘Wormholes’ (both published by AEG) and the very soon to be released ‘Fit to Print’ (Flatout Games – the folks who published Calico, Cascadia, Point Salad and newly arriving Kickstarter Verdant)  Peter will be leading his games. We’ve played both Tiny Towns and Wormholes in previous sessions. His games have been well received as gateway games that can be played and enjoyed by both casual and avid gamers.
Peter McPherson
9 for Halloween games at Purple Dragon Games on Wednesday, October 26th.
IN: Tim, Rob, Armando, Sean, Amy, Drew, Danny, Wendy, Quinn

ON OUR TABLES:

Skull

(led by Tim) – We opened the night with a game that is of the quintessence of bluffing, a game in which everything is played in the players‘ heads. Skull is not a game of luck; it’s a game of poker face and meeting eyes.

Dead Panic

(led by Drew) – The zombie apocalypse has begun, and you and your friends take on the roles of various characters who are all working to survive in this 2013 relative of 2009’s coop game Castle Panic by the same designer.

The Bloody Inn

(led by Sean) – Players are greedy, murderous innkeepers in this 2015 card game, killing and robbing thier guests to steal their money while not raising the suspicions of any travelling police, who might look too closely!  Bribe guests to help you as you kill other guests, bury their bodies (and steal their money), and build annexes on to the inn to cover more bodies. The innkeeper with the most cash at the end wins!

Mysterium Park

(led by Amy) – In this 2020 cooperative stand-alone game in the Mysterium universe, the ghost player sends visions with illustrated cards without talking. The psychics try to interpret them in order to rule out certain suspects and locations. Then, they’ll seize their only chance to piece together what happened to the director. You have only six nights before the carnival leaves town… Open your minds and find the truth! A bit of Mysterium meets Codenames.
