ON OUR TABLES:
Arraial (led by Rob) 2018 game about Portuguese summer celebrations. A Tetris-like game where players draft polyominoes off a lazy Susan to attract the most visitors to their party…
Blockers (led by K-ban) 2010 abstract where the goal is to form the fewest contiguous groups of tiles in your color. The board gets crowded with the full complement of 5 players.
Summer Camp (led by Sean) 2021 entry level deck building game with open drafting, designed by Australian Phil Walker-Harding. Players must earn the most camp experience points by claiming merit badges, advancing pawns along the merit paths, and buying cards. Each game a different combination of 3 merit badge decks are used (out of 7). .
Nidavellir (led by Tim) 2020 drafting game of recruitment in a world of dwarves. Players bid a coin on each of 3 taverns. In descending order, choose a character and add this character to your army. Each dwarf class has its own scoring way: blacksmith, hunter, warrior, explorer, and miner. The clever smart ‘coin building system’ makes the game unique as players upgrade their coins and resultant bidding strength.
Framework (led by K-ban) 2022 Uwe Rosenberg tile drafting design. This abstract started as Corne’ van Moorsel’s ‘Habitats’, then got reimplemented as a joint effort with Uwe Rosenberg as ‘Nova Luna’. Players draft tiles that have frames and/or tasks to complete. First to complete 22 tasks is the winner.
Akropolis (led by Tim) 2022 game of open tile drafting with layering and pattern building to construct a city and earn VPs.
